Position: Audio Engineer

Manager/Supervisor:  Pastor of Magnification                    Position: Part-Time         

Compensation: $29.50 – $38.57 per hour                            Length of Probation: 90days

Employment Status: Non-exempt hourly (part-time) 20 hours a week

Work Schedule & Hours: Sunday’s 6:30am to 2:00pm, Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, Thursday’s during all choir rehearsals, other events according to Church calendar events, special events as well

Position Summary

The Audio Engineer provides all sound needs for Bayview and provides consistent quality in mixing sound for the band, vocals at services, events and other ministries in multiple venues. Works under the direction of the Purpose Pastor of Magnification to ensure sound quality meets or exceeds the standards for ideal mix, from planning and stage plotting to the worship experience in venues throughout the Church.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure sound audio during the worship experience and events at Bayview is delivered with clarity, balance and impact
  • Work the sound board and manage all the sound systems – mics, speakers, etc. Handle sound for worship services, all choir rehearsals, weddings, funerals and other special events
  • Mix audio during services and events, adjusting levels as needed for music, speaking and transitions
  • Tune equipment to optimize audio performance of equipment and room acoustics with the desired audio quality
  • Work the sound board and manage all the sound system efficiently in the Sanctuary, MLK and on occasion out side on campus
  • Provided consistent audio quality in sound for spoken words, vocals, and instruments
  • Ensure transitions, levels, music and speaking are maintained during worship experiences and events with clarity and balance
  • Run full sound checks with worship team, musicians and speakers before services and events
  • Work with the worship team and the production team to prepare for upcoming services and events
  • Arrive early before services and events to set up, direct, collaborate, design, do technical checks and prepare
  • Maintain microphones, monitors, speakers, and all sound equipment to ensure Bayview has optimal sound quality presented for all services and events
  • Collaborate with the Purpose Pastor of Magnification to purchase, install, setup, organize and maintain all sound equipment
  • Provide leadership to the audio team ministry partners in developing, and growing a successful audio team
  • Collaborate with Live Stream Technician for on-line Audio clarity and balance
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned

Qualifications:          

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a minimum of two years Church audio experience
  • Must have a solid understanding of audio mixing, digital consoles, EQ, gain structure, Compression and monitors etc.
  • Must have a strong ear for detail and the ability to react quickly during live services
  • Must have a respect for worship flow and cultural sensitivity to Church dynamics

Education: Minimum two-years’ experience in Audio production; preferred either: Specialized Certification in Sound Production/Audio Engineering, or,  
                  Associate’s degree in Music Production/Audio Engineering, or Bachelor’s degree in Audio, Sound, Music or Recording Arts

Position: Facilities Support Assistant     Manager/Supervisor: Administrative Services Manager

Compensation: $17.75 – $19.00 per hour   

Length of Probation: 90days

Employment Status: Non-exempt hourly (part-time) 20-25 hours a week

Work Schedule & Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 8:00am to 2:00pm with a 30min lunch at 12:30pm each day

Position Summary

The Facilities Support Assistant (FSA) will assist the Administrative Services Manager in assigned care and upkeep of the Bayview campus and facilities. The FSA reports directly to the Administrative Services Manager and assists in the various areas and needs of Bayview Church, i.e. Daily Bread Marketplace, Christian Closet, special events, daily upkeep, where and when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all assigned duties as directed by the Administrative Services Manager
  • Assist with regular inspection of church premises and report all areas of need to the Administrative Services Manager.
  • Support with opening and locking up procedures as needed and directed by the Administrative Services Manager
  • Perform light repairs, maintenance installation, plumbing, painting, and other handyman related duties as needed and directed by the Administrative Services Manager
  • Support with calendar events, set-ups, breakdowns, equipment, accessories and supplies
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Assist in the mission of the Bayview Daily Bread Marketplace (DBM) and the Christian Closet (CC) to help the Bayview community and the greater San Diego community with food and clothing needs, as part of the Bayview P.E.A.C.E. initiative.
  • Assist in the DBM and CC with food rescue pickups, clothing donations and related needs
  • Preform duties as a designated driver for the DBM and CC:
    • Drive Bayview Baptist Church (BBC) vehicle to pick up and deliver food and other rescue items on schedule.
    • Follow routes, traffic laws, and maintain a clean driving record.
    • Perform pre/post-trip inspections and record food temperatures and weight in required log.
    • Load/unload items safely using proper equipment and ensure proper placement at DBM and/or CC.
    • Maintain clean, organized vehicle cargo area and assist with donation deliveries as directed.

Qualifications:          

  • Must be at 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid current/unexpired California driver’s license, with no points within the current or the previous 2 years
  • Minimum one year handyman experience

Education: Minimum High Scholl diploma required, some College preferred

Position Summary

The Operations Administrative Assistant is a master multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. The Operations Administrative Assistant must be able to assist the Chief Operations Officer, staff and all visitors to the church by handling office tasks, providing polite and professional assistance via phone, mail, text and e-mail. The Operations Administrative Assistant must be professional, polite, and attentive while also being accurate. The Operations Administrative Assistant should always be prepared and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly. The Operations Administrative Assistant will be proficient with computers, general office tasks, and excel at both verbal and written communication. Most importantly, the Operations Administrative Assistant should have a genuine desire to meet the needs of others.

  • Ensure operation of office equipment, i.e. copy machines, by completing preventive maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories and evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  • Maintain church wide supply orders, by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing, and expediting orders for supplies.
  • Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:       

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license, with no points within the current or the previous 2 years
  • 3 + years of administrative assistant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing calendars.
  • 1+ year of experience managing expense reports.

Education:

  • Associate degree or higher degree in a related field preferred.
